Postdoctoral fellow
Tiziana completed her Master’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Konstanz, where she conducted her thesis at the Neurobiology of Diabetes Lab at the Helmholtz Center Munich, investigating the role of hypothalamic inflammation in metabolic regulation. She then joined Prof. Raffa’s Nanomedicine & Molecular Biology Laboratory at the University of Pisa, completing her PhD and continuing as a research associate. Her work focused on recombinant protein design, CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing, and the development of tunable nanotechnological tools for intracellular delivery, targeted cancer therapy, and neuronal regeneration. She also gained experience at the Nanoscopy for Nanomedicine Lab at TU Eindhoven, working on protein-based molecular probes for super-resolution imaging diagnostics. Since June 2025, Tiziana is a postdoctoral fellow in the Albanese lab, focusing on engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) for therapeutic applications in latently infected cells. Outside the lab, she enjoys sightseeing, cultural exchanges, and soaking up the Mediterranean sun- with great food, of course!
